AWARDS: 2007 GAYOT TOP 10 NEW HOTELS IN THE NATION, 2008 AMERICAN LODGING INVESTMENT SUMMIT DEVELOPMENT OF THE YEAR
Joining the ranks of notable city landmarks, Detroit’s 17-story MGM Grand Detroit replaced the city’s temporary casino site, providing guests with contemporary gaming floor space, upscale entertainment venues, world-class accommodations and dining. The project consists of a 400-room hotel, a full-service resort spa, upscale fashion and jewelry retail shops, five-star restaurants, a spectacular grand ballroom, conference center and an eight-story parking garage. The design philosophy for MGM Grand Detroit was to create timeless, elegant architecture that pays homage to Detroit’s substantial collection of 20th-century skyscrapers, while delivering on high expectations for the allure, anticipation and energy that define the contemporary entertainment experience. Project plans, a joint venture with SmithGroup Architects, include full A/E, AOR and peer review services for the plan’s retail components. Additional project plans provide complete architectural and interior design services.
As AOR, our team managed over 20 local, national and international specialty consultants. Coordination efforts included leading weekly team meetings, regular workshop sessions, progress reports, etc.
