[+] MGM TAP DETROIT
What’s the recipe for a great bar? That was the foundation on which HAA and Richard McCormack Design used in designing the new 9,500 square foot Sports Bar at MGM Grand Detroit named, TAP. This new restaurant and sports bar captures the feel and look of some of Detroit’s most venerable ‘local’ establishments aiming to become an ‘instant classic.’ The décor takes its cues from Detroit’s industrial hey-day, by using materials such as reclaimed wood, iron, and concrete, then adorning the walls with a variety of memorabilia showcasing many of the local sports icons from both past and present.
Like the name suggests TAP celebrates beer and sports, with a series of tables where you can pour your own mug of beer. But it is also much more, it’s also big on food. The design creates a lively, open connection between the bar and the kitchen to invite customers to experience TAP’s inspired menu offerings as they’re being created by Chef and his team.
TAP is a collage of places creating a wide array of individual experiences and memories, whether in the main bar area with its two 7x10 foot video walls, or in the private trophy room with its own walk-up bar and stage area. TAP is a truly unique destination experience with the ability to accommodate up to 300 guests.
