HAA’s master plan integrated the new development with a recently built waterfront park creating a permeable edge with views to the waterfront. Buildings with programmed landscape elements are arranged to create varying experiences throughout the site that respond to each neighborhood identity.
Integrated plazas and pedestrian walkways link these residential neighborhoods to a vibrant shopping and entertainment district.
The highlight of the development is the 36-floor hotel tower fronting the Long Ze River and Donghai Riverside Drive. The hotel’s faceted façade creates a variety of visual effects due to the reflected sunlight on angled glass that changes levels of transparency, color and reflection throughout the day. The hotel site design slopes up from the ground floor, transitioning to a vegetated green roof for the hotel podium. The podium is programmed with restaurants, a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and a conference center.
