Test-fit diagram layouts were developed and reviewed with DWMHA to respond to their functional goals, while incorporating program needs efficiently. During the programming effort, the team evaluated the project requirements and adjoining departments or divisions, including potential future employee growth, and prepared concepts that developed sequenced interior spaces as much as possible which support the larger operation specific to this group.
The test-fit strategy incorporated open office space to the perimeter of the building, utilizing existing windows on the north and west elevation to allow for natural light to penetrate the workspace and benefit from views believed to reduce stress and discomfort of staff.
Core office elements such as storage, fax/copy rooms, break rooms, conference rooms and enclosed offices were placed at the center of the building as a strategy for maintaining light penetration.
Glass fronts were incorporated into enclosed offices and conference rooms to increase visibility, create the effect of openness within the office space and aid the transmittance of light.
