The facility includes a youth lounge/game room, cyber café, art rooms, dance rooms, a gymnasium/fitness room, a technology center, a study/media center as well as numerous meeting/mentoring rooms.
The center’s interior space is organized around a central multipurpose dining hall, which fosters increased interaction between all users of the building.
The project features the adaptive reuse of two existing structures, making it inherently a sustainable practice by reduction in the impact of new materials creation. Another example of sustainability at Youthville is the rubber flooring installed in the facility that uses recycled automobile tires. Although in the end the owners decided against pursuing LEED certification, the building is a highly efficient sustainable building.
